The State's Attorney's Office prosecutes anyone charged with committing a crime in Prince George's County. This includes crimes of violence, like murder, rape, robbery and assault, as well as nonviolent crimes against citizens and their properties. The State's Attorney's Office also investigates charges of police and public official misconduct and misuse of funds, and works to educate the community about crime prevention and the criminal justice system.
Since 2002, Glenn F. Ivey has worked hard to help make Prince George’s County a good place to live, work and raise a family. His mission is to make our communities safer, which is why he has implemented proactive crime reduction and crime prevention programs designed to benefit and protect all county residents. Since taking office, Ivey also has worked to increase access to intervention programs and to improve prosecutorial and investigative accountability. His vision is that these efforts, along with the combined efforts of all law enforcement offices, community groups and individual citizens, will help protect the rights of all residents of Prince George’s County."
